Concert at Brewster's

In January, some GCBI students got a few acts together to raise money.  Every year Great Commission Bible Institute studies the entire Bible and then goes to Israel at the end of the school year.  It's an expensive trip so some of the students decided to host a fundraiser at a local coffee shop called Brewster's.

The Gickbees opened with a song by John Mark McMillan.

Next was local musician Kirsten Melrose (Nickisch) with her beautiful original songs.

After that was The Courtship which is made up of Kelly Pelham (vocals), Peter Pieringer (guitar) and my husband Ben Russell (percussion).

Andrea, one of this year's GCBI students, read a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

The talented Jesse Brown was up next and he played some originals as well as a few covers.

Three of our coolio students this year: Luke, Zoe, and Abigail

To round out the night was Jesse B and the Gickbees playing a few songs.
Luke on bass, Dennis on acoustic, Jesse on drums, and Justin on piano and guitar

Pusat and Zoe!

Overall it was a fun night with some friends and some fantastic music.  Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our students' fundraiser!

Seymour Christmas 2014

My dad got the flu and so we weren't able to spend Christmas Day with my family.  But we still got to have a wonderful Christmas celebration with them!  We spent part of our time with my mom's family in West Virginia and the rest of the time in Virginia with my dad's parents.  We had a lot of fun and made a lot of memories!

I don't know who was more excited to get a soccer ball, Ben or Cocoa.

My mom and I often get each other puzzles for gifts because we love doing them together.  This year was no different!

My dad loves Star Wars so I got him a Star Wars lanyard from Downtown Disney to hold his school keys.  He loved it!

Ben likes the watch my mom got him from Tommy Hilfiger.

I got my mom a vintage Mickey and Minnie Mouse puzzle for Christmas.

My mom wanted this purse and made it fairly obvious to my dad ;)

A first Christmas ornament!

I also got my dad a bacon cheeseball mix.

Finally a real rolling pin!  No more using bottles!

My grandfather sitting in his usual chair making his usual jokes.

A bundt pan to make my mom's famous chocolate cake!

I don't remember what happened here...Not sure I want to!

While we were in West Virginia we got to ride our cousins' horses.  It's one of my favorite things about going to West Virginia.

The next Dior campaign?

Colonial Williamsburg is always beautifully decorated this time of year!

Look!  The Russell House!

Christmas with my family is always fun: movies, food, games, shopping, traveling, and many memories and laughter.
