Grace Church Baptism 2015

In November our church went to the YMCA to have a baptism service.  This was my first Grace Church baptism and I was especially excited because our two foster kids were going to be baptized!  What a wonderful thing to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and be a witness to everyone of your commitment to Christ!

Pastor Matt greeted everyone and shared about baptism.

A lot of people came to the baptism to witness their friends' public proclaiming of their faith in the Lord.

Jesse Brown has become like a brother to Ben and I and it has been a real blessing to see him grow over the past few years.  He's an outstanding young man and has grown to be a great worship leader at our church.  We are all very excited to see how God continues to use him!

His father got to baptize and pray over him, which was a very special moment!

This toothless fellow has become a very important part of our lives over the past ten months.  When he came to us he did not know the Lord and acknowledges that the time before he came to us was before he knew Jesus.  He was a sweet boy, but you could tell he came with hurts. Over the summer we watched his love of the Lord blossom (a special thanks to the KCU and Grace Church workers) and changes came with that.  As soon as we mentioned that people were going to be baptized both him and his sister wanted to do it.  (Although even after several explanation he didn't realize it would be in water lol).  Many people were overwhelmed with joy at both of our kids declaring their faith in the Lord and I know I cried a few tears.  All praise to the Lord!

This girl is one of the strongest kids I know and has such a desire for knowledge.  She's not afraid to ask you a tough question about the Bible and probably knows just as much as a child who has been in church their whole life.  She also wants to know what's going on and usually wants some kind of say.  A lesson that she has really learned is that sometimes we don't know why God does the things He does but we do know He is in control.  Watching her change has also been a joy and such an example of the grace of God and what His love can do.

Hannah one of the sweetest people you will ever have the honor of meeting and her warmth is always an encouragement to me!

Sylvia and her granddaughter were both baptized and it was wonderful to hear some of her testimony.

Kristen and her son (who is adorable!) have been going to our church for a while now and their sweet presence is a refreshing one!

This is an accurate picture of Jon because he is always laughing and making people laugh.  Both he and his brother are a fun crew to have!

This year Ben and I have gotten to know Roman and he is another of a great group of young youth students.  And not just because he is also a Chelsea FC fan.  He has a genuine faith and Pat and his team have really done a great job of investing in these youths' lives and growing their faith.

Baptisms are a blessing to witness and exciting because it means our church is growing and lives are being changed!  Praise the Lord!
